Infor Query & Analysis 11 (Q&A 11)
Formerly known as Vision, Q&A11 is the standard reporting and business intelligence tool for Infor SunSystems. It is designed to bridge the gap between complex financial databases and the familiar environment of Microsoft Excel, allowing finance teams to extract, analyse and upload data in real-time.
Key features of Q&A 11
Unlike previous versions that sometimes used standalone “Executive” applications, Q&A 11 is built entirely within Microsoft Excel. It supports Office 365 and both 32-bit and 64-bit environments.
It uses web services to pull live data directly from the SunSystems ledger. There is no need for manual data exports or waiting for “overnight” refreshes.
- Summary link: Returns a single aggregated value (e.g., total “Travel Expense” for March).
- Summary report: Generates a summarized list of data grouped by specific fields (e.g., P&L by Department).
- Detail report: Provides a granular, row-by-row listing of every transaction in the database.
- Reference link: Extracts non-numerical data from a single record (e.g., a Supplier’s address or a Chart of Account description).
A powerful feature that allows users to push data from Excel back into SunSystems. This is commonly used for uploading journal entries, budget figures, and static data like new supplier codes.
Users can click on a summary figure in a report to “drill down” into the individual transactions that make up that number, or “breakout” a report into multiple separate tabs (e.g., creating 50 separate department sheets in one click).

Everything you used to do in the standalone app (Cube analysis, drilling, and expanding) is now handled directly inside the Excel ribbon. This significantly reduces the learning curve for new staff.
