Millennium Digital Invoicing live in Belgium

Digital invoicing is no longer optional — it is fast becoming a regulatory requirement across Europe.

Over the last six years Millennium has built deep, hands-on expertise supporting digital invoicing in Italy, one of Europe’s earliest and most demanding adopters. When Italy introduced mandatory electronic invoicing in 2019, Millennium was already in production, helping customers comply from day one. That experience is now paying off elsewhere.

We’re pleased to announce that Millennium Digital Invoicing now supports Belgium, enabling customers using Unit4 Financials by Coda to produce Peppol-compliant electronic invoices. From January 2026, we are live with our first Belgian customer.

Why this matters

Italy set the benchmark for digital invoicing in Europe with a complex, highly regulated, and fully mandatory model covering both inbound and outbound invoices. Millennium’s experience operating successfully in this environment demonstrates proven capability at scale, supporting multinational organisations by integrating Unit4 Financials by Coda data with third-party invoice sources in real-world, high-volume finance operations. From January 2026, Belgium will follow this trajectory, with B2B transactions legally requiring the issuance of structured electronic invoices via the Peppol network—making early preparation essential.

Looking ahead

Belgium is not an exception — it’s part of a broader European shift toward mandatory e-invoicing, driven by VAT control, fraud reduction, and tax transparency initiatives. Countries such as France, Germany, Spain, and others are already on the same path.
