Review and Recommendations
SunSystems users rarely make full use of all the functionality available to them and therefore a Health Check/System Review will identify where changes can be made to enhance performance and ensure the software is being used more efficiently.
The review is carried out by one of our experienced Principal Consultants who investigates current technical set-up, business processes and whether introducing other complementary software is advisable. A detailed report is subsequently produced which documents the findings and makes short, medium and long-term recommendations for improvement.
How it works
Provisional Itinerary
We arrange a provisional itinerary with you and agree a convenient date to carry out the review. The review requires access to key stakeholders from your Finance and IT teams and can be conducted either onsite or remotely depending on individual requirements.
Timing
The Health Check normally takes between 2 days (1 on-site and 1 day write-up) and 4 days (2 on-site and 2 days write-up) depending on complexity and which SunSystems modules are being used.
The Report
The report provides options to make greater use of the software’s functionality, improve business processes, reporting, integration and user knowledge. It also provides the information needed to deliver support and create a project plan if required.
The 4 day review
Day 1
Business Process Workshop followed by stakeholder/user meetings.
Day 2
System and processes review with the Systems Manager in line with Day 1 meetings.
Day 3
The Systems Review Report is produced which covers the areas discussed in Day 1 and Day 2 and provides recommendations for each identified issued. The report is distributed to the stakeholders.
Day 4
The fourth day normally takes place after several weeks when each party has had adequate time to review the report and it normally involves a meeting with the stakeholders to discuss the report, answer questions, define strategy and compile a high- level project plan.
Systems Review Output
The audit report provides recommendations which then can form the basis of a SunSystems improvement roadmap explaining possible options for future months/years.
Recommendations are divided into short, medium and long term actions covering 3 key strategies to ensure you use the full capabilities of SunSystems software – People, Process and Technology.
Clients are under no obligation to proceed with any of the recommendations however following this process and documenting a roadmap can allow users to gain greater insight into how they can achieve optimal performance from their SunSystems software.
“As is “Upgrade
As well as highlighting operational improvements, the review also investigates the technical landscape and provides recommendations regarding software version use, guidance re timescales and the practicalities of the upgrade process.
Whilst some users may decide to upgrade on an “as is” basis, (e.g. to ensure they remain on a vendor supported software version) the review can identify other changes that will be required for the upgrade process or may involve improving existing processes if adopted as part of the upgrade.
For these reasons we recommend a Millennium System Review even if the primary motivation is simply to perform an “as-is” technical upgrade.
