The former England rugby player will be joining us on the course for the 20th year of fundraising at Millennium’s 2026 Raising Futures Kenya Charity Golf Day.

Peter Winterbottom is a former English rugby union player and is widely regarded as one of the finest open-side flankers of his generation. Born on 31 May 1960 in Otley, he played club rugby for Headingley and later for Harlequins, earning a reputation for relentless tackling, intelligent support play, and consistency at the highest level.

Winterbottom represented the England national rugby union team between 1982 and 1993, winning 58 caps and playing a key role in England’s successes during the late 1980s and early 1990s, including Grand Slam-winning Five Nations campaigns. He also toured twice with the British & Irish Lions – in 1983 and 1993 to New Zealand – where the Lions achieved a famous series victory.

Known for his work ethic, durability, and leadership on the field, Winterbottom remains one of England’s most respected rugby forwards and an influential figure in the history of English rugby union.

Peter will also be helping us raise additional funds during the day through our charity raffle, generously signing rugby shirts and a rugby ball that guests will have the chance to win. These special prizes are set to be a highlight of the event and will help support the vital work of Raising Futures Kenya.

Peter follows an illustrious line of sporting icons, including former All Blacks captain Sean Fitzpatrick and light heavyweight boxing world champion John Conteh, who have both taken part in our previous charity golf days.
